Great location, great little bar. We ordered drinks and sat outside on a Sunday night. We ordered a $1 burger with our drinks, just to try. I was pleasantly surprised with my portion. Had we not been going to dinner elsewhere, I would have ordered a burger for dinner. Can you beat one dollar?! No, you can't! Try it!

I don't know if it's because the weather is cold in Green Bay or just the people over all are not happy but I have come here twice the last couple of days because it is very conveniently located near the hotel and they have lots of TV's and sports playing. I succeeded in finding the worst nachos I have ever had. 1000 chips 6 pieces of lettuce, olives and jalepenos. I asked for shredded cheese (rather then processed) and all 10 shreds that were on it were cold . I asked the waitress don't you usually bake the cheese, she just said I don't know. Clearly Unhappy I told her she could take the nachos away....she still didn't get the hint and charged me for them. The second night the staff just walks past my table several time finally I had to ask if I could order. If you ask for another beer do not ask for a new glass...it's a touchy subject with them. The place is cool but not cool enough to over come the horrible service.

I was attending a conference at SNC and the Abbey was a convenient place to catch a cider and a few innings of the Brewers game between sessions. This was after graduation, so I have no idea how the place looks when school is in session. The waitress was friendly to me, but spent time ditching different groups and trying to pawn folks off on her coworkers. Groups came in wanting to watch the NHL playoffs and the acrobatics needed to change channels were so ridiculous that she just told people to sit elsewhere where the game was already on certain tvs - this wasn't her fault, but if you're a bar with 20 TVs and there are only two sporting events on that night and the college you serve is chock full of national champion hockey players, you probably should be able to turn the hockey game on. My $1 burger was above average, there were lots of options for a potato-based side dish and there was cider on tap, so I was satisfied, but mostly the Abbey was close and convenient.

Terrible service with a not very friendly waitress. The food was awful. My fish and chips were these tiny paper thin pieces of greasy deep fried non existent fish. The special burger was dripping grease and was supposed to be a bleu a cheese burger but had no bleu cheese and our kids hot dog had a bun that was hard as a rock and stale. Would not eat here again.

Sure I'm a little bias because I am an SNC alum, but at least I have a place that I will always feel welcomed. The bar is extensive and surrounded with televisions. Perfect place to catch a game. Lots of beers on tap and plenty of bar food to satisfy your hunger. Also have a lot of bar games to play-especially the shuffleboard! The service can get busy but Kerry always takes care of you. Sidenote-the upstairs is awesome for parties. Go Green Knights!

My husband and I went and ate at the Abbey on Friday. It was not very busy. We went into one door but my husband couldn't get through because he is in a wheelchair so we went to the other door and were lost because no one would help us on where we had to go and sit. Finally a bartender help doesn't Totus to find a seat anywhere. The waitress came right away and was very friendly and helpful. My husband ordered a Reuben and I ordered the Archie burger. My husband had ordered extra sauerkraut and he was glad that he did there was very little on there at all. My burger was very good but messy we were never given silverware and the french fries have potato skins on them they were very good. The soda could've been a little better you could taste that there was an off taste with the water that is used. All in all it was a good experience and I would return.

After a day at the game and fighting the traffic from the stadium...my son and I, from California, had a hard time finding something open at 6pm on a Sunday. Thank goodness for The Abbey!! We were cold and wet and looking for a fairly low key place to get some food, a drink and watch the Sunday night game. What a gem!! We were allowed to just linger at the bar. It was a spacious building and there were quite a few people but it wasn't noisy or rowdy. It felt like a local pub. We ate and drank simple, got the tomato soup and the chili excellent and tasted home made, not out of a can. We both had a shot of top shelf bourbons and the total bill was well under $20. The waiter was friendly and attentive. A great local pub in an amazing city outside of Green Bay proper.

Worst French Fries Ever! My sister and I went to this bar/restaurant yesterday for lunch and we ordered the Wisconsin Cheese Platter, but received the cheese curds. They were served in a basket with fries in the bottom and the cheese curds on top. They. Both were so greasy, that they glistened and were very saturated in oil. Despite this, we did eat some of the cheese curds (I know we should have sent them back, but we were hungry). Cheese curds did taste ok, but the fries we could not bring ourselves to try because they were so soaked in grease. I also ordered a gyro and my sister had the Philly cheese steak, both with side salads. Both of the sandwiches lacked any seasoning. The highlight of this meal was the salad, sad to say. Will we come back, I don't think so. Stay away from this establishment if you have a heart condition or do not have your gall bladder. You will pay dearly. The service was good, I must say.

Staying at the Kress Inn and grabbed lunch to-go, and it was fantastic! Pleasantly surprised with how perfectly cooked and tasty everything was (chicken and rice soup, Italian hoagie, Santa Fe chicken wrap, and the fries were all awesome).

Always advertising for a cook. What does that tell you? Food ok. Beer lines need to be cleaned better.

Do I have to give 1 star? Terrible service and terrible food. Don't go to the restaurant side thinking you're going to get restaurant quality. We took my mom out for dinner for her birthday and wanted to try something local and different. Bad idea. It wasn't busy when we went, that was probably the first red flag. We came in, sat down, eventually the waitress came over, she didn't offer us a high chair for our toddler, so my husband went and found one for us. We ordered our food, my husband first got his food, then we had to wait a bit longer for our food. Finally our pizza arrived. The waitress asked us if we wanted plates or something...uh DUH. The waitress was like yeah, I'll bring those salads out in a minute, minutes turned to a half hour. When she finally brought them out, she had them all stacked up on each other and we were about ready to leave at that point. We had already eaten our main course. What annoyed us the most was another couple came in after us, had a different waitress that actually acted like a waitress, didn't forget about them, and brought out their food on time way before we even got ours. You could hear the employees in the back fluffing off. Oh, to complete the whole shitty experience, our order was wrong. Whatever.

It's all right. The burgers are nice and the cheese curds aren't bad. I would recommend it for anyone who has never been or looking for a venue with decent space for a small, private party. The upper floor is nicely tucked away from the main floor for such events.

In town for work and a local recommended this place. Seemed like a good bar to hang out on the weekend and watch a game. The beer was cheap but the bartender did not seem very friendly. I had the Abbey Burger and Wisconsin cheese nuggets (nothing special).

Amazing food specials during the week. Legitimate $1 dollar burgers on Monday, 25 cent wings on some day. $5 twelve inch pizza on another day. Really Good beer selection. Had very rare local beers. Very clean inside. Bartender I had was a very nice guy. I really like this place.

I went in there with high expectations and I would say that I was a little disappointed. We were one of the only customers in there and it took them forever to come to our table.(the bartenders and waitresses were talking among themselves constantly and ignoring us) I got the famous "Harry and Al burger" and it was nothing special. The inside is really cool though and I bet they have a good atmosphere when it is packed. I would not recommend the food, but going for a beer to socialize is probably the way to go.

My review is based on just one beer... so if your looking for a review on food, you'll have to wait until I decide to eat. It was a rainy day in De Pere, so I decided to go for a beer at a local pub. The Abbey is fun, it's like an English pub on American steroids. Considering the signage, I'm assuming the Abbey caters to college students from the College across the street. If your middle aged perhaps visiting during the day would be better (when I visited) or during the early evening. If your looking for a bar with a blast... Abbey is it!!!!
